With our set of two upcycled Emily cushion covers and inner cushions, you can decorate your home with textiles in a significantly more responsible way than choosing alternatives made from virgin materials.
The cushion covers are made from discarded sheets and duvet covers (without filling) sourced from Danish laundry houses and from Dykon, a Danish duvet manufacturer. Instead of recycling the fibres, we upcycle them - preserving their original strength and quality while reducing environmental impact. Compared to producing the same product from new materials, our upcycled production uses approximately 70% less CO₂ and 97% less water.
Because the original textiles were white, they have been dyed within the EU using 100% GOTS-certified organic dyes. This ensures a more responsible dyeing process with a lower environmental footprint, while achieving a rich, burnt orange tone that works beautifully year-round.
The set includes two sizes, making it easy to create depth and balance in your sofa or bedroom styling.
The inner cushions are produced in Denmark and made with a 100% cotton cover and filled with 100% Danish duck feathers, ensuring comfort, durability, and a high-quality finish.

What is upcycling?
What is upcycling?
Upcycling means that we reuse the parts of the discarded garments that are still in good condition, instead of mechanically or chemically recycling them into new yarn. We manually sort through each item by hand to find the reusable pieces we can upcycle into items such as washcloths, dishcloths, tea towels, cushion covers, foot stools and toiletry bags, amongst other things.
We cut out what is reusable and sew it back together into new home textiles. This is the most environmentally friendly way to handle the waste because very little energy and water is required, in comparison with a recycled product, where the material has to be broken down and often mixed with polyester in order to bind the shorter fibres.
The desire to save as much waste textiles as possible from being burnt up into smoke was how the idea for Amolia came about, so sustainability has been at the heart of what we do from day one. Read more about all the ways we try to be as sustainable as we possibly can.
